Blogmas Day 4: Christmas Decorations Wishlist

Ever since the boyfriend and I have started looking for our own apartment (why is it so hard to find somewhere decent!?), I’ve been dreaming of spending the holidays there – wherever it may be. Being able to decorate it to our own tastes (but mostly mine, let’s be real here) is going to be so much fun! So, although we haven’t actually found a place yet, I have been looking at Christmas decorations online (and in-store) and thought I’d share the ones I’m lusting after with you – it is Blogmas, after all.

Baubles

I mean, you can’t really do Christmas without these, can you? I’ve always quite liked the idea of sticking to a somewhat subtle, subdued theme when it comes to decorating the Christmas tree, so that’s definitely what I’m going to be aiming for in our own little place.

Homeware

I’ve always marvelled at people who mange to make their entire home look festive – not just because of a Christmas tree (preferably in every single room), but also because they find little homeware bits that add a festive touch to any decor. When we find our own place, I’m determined to have Christmas bedding, a few festive pillows here and there and just little details all around the house that add to the holiday spirit.

Lights

It’s time for a confession: I’m a blogger and I currently don’t own any fairylights. So those are definitely on my list! Other than that, I’d love to put some really cute ones on the tree – no coloured ones, though, those wouldn’t really fit my subdued theme.

Figurines

Now, I do want a pretty simple style when it comes to decorating the Christmas tree, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like a good figurine for Christmas. Here at our house (so basically my mum and dad’s), we decorate some of our cupboards with a bit of white cotton to make it look like snow and then we put some festive figurines on top and I love how it looks. So that is definitely something I’m going to try to recreate when we find our own place.

Candles

In true blogger fasion, I am obsessed with scented candles. I think we’ve already got about six, and that’s just for my bedroom and the study as those are the two rooms we’re currently ‘living’ in. Imagine what I could do with a whole apartment! We still need to add some festive ones, though, so I’m now on a hunt to find the perfect one(s).

In the perfect world, these are the items I’d be decorating our apartment with. I’m thinking that maybe I need to buy some of these now, as they’ll probably be gone by Christmas next year… I’ll have to see if I can convince the boyfriend, haha. How do you like to decorate your place? Have you already started, or are you waiting until it gets closer to Christmas? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll see you again tomorrow with a new post for Blogmas!
